Uttoxeter Canal May work party
A short note from me regarding tomorrow's work party. Unfortunately I am unable to be present but Rupert has agreed to lead the group, and will meet you all on site at 10am. Can I ask those who are planning to attend to reply to this message and I will advise Rupert of expected attendees.
The task this month will be to complete the offside vegetation clearance at Bridge 70 and hopefully to continue towpath side clearance between the bridge and Carrington's Lock. We have been working in this area for a couple of months now and it is already looking much better.
As our regulars will know there is very limited parking at Crumpwood, especially at present while work is being done near to the Weir, so can I ask that volunteers meet as usual at Denstone Village Hall (College Rd, Denstone, Uttoxeter, Staffordshire ST14 5HR) between 9:30 and 9:45am and organise into as few cars as possible to travel to site, or meet Rupert on site at Bridge 70 at 10am having made your own way on foot.
All tools and equipment will be provided. Volunteers are advised to wear old clothes, stout shoes and to bring waterproofs in case of rain and a packed lunch if staying all day.
This work party is jointly led by the Inland Waterways Association North Staffordshire & South Cheshire Branch and Caldon & Uttoxeter Canals Trust.
