Today, my wife Jo and I got our working narrowboat "Hadar" through Froghall Tunnel. We had to shift about 3 tonnes of coal forward in the hold to bring the bow down enough to get through, but we were determined to do it. We were at the opening ceremony for Froghall Basin in 2005, on the boat we were living on whilst "Hadar" was being built by Roger Fuller in Stone, but we were the only boat that could not get through the tunnel at that time as she was too high. I have always wanted to return with "Hadar" to get through to the basin, and it has only taken us 8 years to get here since she was completed!
